Title: Small Shop Project Gray Ghost 421
Post by: Kawtriplefreak on February 22, 2026, 06:57:13 PM
Today's small shop project materialized while doing some much needed clean-up on the Gray Ghost 421. I was wiping off up under the motor and saw a couple drops of 2 stroke oil hanging off of the rear shock. Turns out the circa 1984 factory oil tank vent/over flow hose is way short and hard as a rock right next to the shock. I replaced it with some clear hose from my stash.

I routed the new hose through an existing bracket under the oil tank and then to the frame rail.

Then I routed it adjacent to the end of the transmission vent hose also routed here so in the event of any overboard venting the resulting oil will end up on the chain and not all over everything.
