Title: 1980 TZ250G in Hixon TN
Post by: IR8D8R on February 24, 2026, 03:32:11 PM
Asking $12k Seems high to me. It's rough.

Not mine, No connection, etc.

Not sure if it added the photo. Site is being weird.

There's issues....
A "G" had a aluminum swingarm and shock... and a "low boy" frame
Here's a  "G"
$12k for "G" is about what I'd expect (If you're gonna race a TZ, you want a "G"... or a CMR)
I think this is an "E" (try not to notice the engine mount on the top of the case... that was dis-continued on the "C")

That is definitely NOT a 1980. Maybe a 1976?, and not worth 12k in my mind.

Wasn't this bike posted here before? :umm: I seem to remember seeing it a while back. But who knows I look at a lot of bike ads so it's possible I saw it somewhere else.

And yes, he's high (literally & figuratively) on the price.

You'd have to really want it at anything near that price, considering the condition.

I haven't been on Facebook in about 10 years but had to access because I got a notice that someone had accessed my old account. Facebook marketplace seems about as high quality as Craigslist used to be.

So likely to have been put together out of bitsa? What would a reasonable price for this be if everything posted here is true (I have no doubt it is). Just curious.

Do LC cylinders fit these engine cases?

About 10 miles away from me over in Hixson.

All the local rednecks here ride H@rdleys so I doubt he will get many takers from this area, or anyone who knows what it is, especially at that price.

Not any different here in the greater Knoxville area. I think there are 4 HD dealers here?

Smoky Mountain HD is more gift shop, nightclub, and attraction than a dealership. The Gatlinburg of motorcycle dealers. Just 'glide baggers though. No choppers or customs to speak of.
