Title: Help - RZ350 coolant leak
Post by: TeeZee on April 09, 2026, 06:51:35 PM
Hi guys!
So I have freshly built motor with new Wiseco pistons and just got a chance to start my RZ as the weather is warming up a bit here.

The coolant starts leaking from cylinder head likely due to a banshee gasket installed which I'll be replacing. But the main concern is the coolant seeping from the bottom from the engine bolts. I couldn't find any source. Any pointers will be much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

It is likely running down the back of the cylinders and out through the holes in the case.

Thanks for the FAST responses. I removed the cylinder head to replace the gasket and now see right cylinder has oil in it, the left is dry. What could be the problem?

The right cylinder is next to the primary gears and their oil. You might be drawing in gear oil.

So oil seal gone bad? My apologies but if you can translate it to much simpler terms would help.

Yes, that's what I think. The crankshaft seal on the right is allowing gear oil into the right cylinder.
