So I got a new set of springs with the Racetech gold valve bits, and after sweating through their voluminous website and drilling out the damper rod I ran into an issue with the OEM parts that are on the damper rod. I'm unclear if the gold valve damper replaces all the baffles, spacers etc or if they go back onto the rod and I just run the goldvalve.
I called them and the guy on the phone was basically, "Well, go to racetech dot com and read about how the gold valves work, and that should answer any questions, I don't know exactly what parts are on your forks because they're all different." So not very helpful.
I"m hoping someone here has been through this.

What are the forks from originally?
I've done a number of emulators in various types of forks, so need to know what your starting with.

The forks are from an rd250. The shop manual doesn't show all the little parts that are on the damper rod as far as I can tell. The damper rod has a conical thing at the bottom, and the open top thing on top where the spring rests, with a roll pin holding it on, but between these two there are a couple of baffles with holes, separated by a spring washer and a spacer, and a cylindrical spacer that fits around the conical thing at the bottom. Not quite sure what to make of it because all this is below the spring, it seems like any rebound damping would be controlled by the gold valve, so why keep all the baffles etc?
There is nothing to do to the damper rod on a RD250 other than making the 2 big holes at the bottom a little bigger. Leave the pieces on there. Then put the aluminum adapter that should have come with the emulators on top of it, then the emulator. Check to see if those pieces fit together nicely and more or less form a seal.
you may need to deal witht he pin in the top hitting the valve bolt, but heres the instructions for the mikes xs ones , work the same as the others, and pic of them on my fork.
you get the idea.
I just did my RD 350 forks as shown.
