The newest one was today on Nicks '76 RD400 build, not a total bare frame build but a nice daily rider Stg 1 less big carbs (stock carbs w/primary needle jet conversion and uni pods) still on points but have more upgrades planned soon.

My shop is in a business industrial park and next door to other shops and their compressors fire up in my video's and because I'm a 1/4 from the airpark airplanes fly over too!  :whatever:
Enjoy the RD life no matter what!  :celebrate:

In this fire-up I have 1 gallon of 93 pump gas on 40:1 premix. I did prime the pump by removing the bleed screw and made sure it was bled to the pump with no air bubbles after about a minute. I did pull the pump cable up to full pump for about 45 seconds.
I check it tomorrow by putting on a rubber nipple on one carb at a time and verifiy the pump is working as it should after the rebuild,
re-shim and cable timing. Timing is set to 1.9mm. I'll post up the jetting results after some dialing in here at sea level in Clearwater, Fl.

Here's mine after I seized it and put a new top end (yes, from Chuck) on her. I should've let it warm up more, but you know, I had to ride it.

Put some tuning and some miles on Nick's RD400 this week as it rained every day most of the day last week.
I modified the Fast from the past rearsets, they are nice but they suck at shifting as most aftermarket one made, other than Joe Spooner custom handmade ones.
I machined a thick piece of aluminum on the mill and welded it on making the shift arm longer by drilling 2 new holes further from the pivot to see what would work the best as the footpeg lever had 2 holes to adjust with, and was gray anodized so didn't want to weld on it.

When I have more time I will start a build thread of the bike...
Nick picked it up and took it home yesterday! It's a gas to ride this rowdy '76 RD400 STG 1  (almost... bigger 30mm carbs and ignition is needed some day to complete as a full stg 1)

Out for a late night jetting run on US HWY 19 and a stop at Johnny's for some pizza!
