New one on the left, original on the right that came in with a bike, customer said he's having trouble getting it to fit

thats very illuminating, amazing how many people struggle with the old ones when new ones are still available.

If heated, the shrinkage would be uneven. Wonder how it can shrink so proportionately.

Would it belong to some other model?
