Either of you guys want to go?
Sounds like it would be a hoot. Maybe not for the
whole week, but, a couple of days.
I agree. Wish I had more disposable income.........
And another 1,000Sq/Ft in my house....
Cheers, Jeff

The thought crossed my mind, but I'm still on the fence. I was considering riding out there for a night or two

Some real good deals. Just saw an all original Ducati 750 F1 for only $9K! Right after it a 4K mi 851 for $6750. Looks like most of them are going at no reserve.
The annual Chinese money laundering event.
Last year shipping containers full of bikes from years earlier were brought back to auction with dust on them.
I hate this auction for seizing up the market by creating unrealistic prices (expected by other sellers in the market) driven by Mecum's willingness to accept questionable funding sources adding value beyond for the ability to buy a hard asset stateside. In short bike value + value of money laundering = mecum prices.
i don't watch any of the auctions or shows for this very reason. Its all garbage business that just artificially increases the prices on things. I never got it and never will, even if i won the lottery. :knightpoop:
I rode out to Vegas for a couple days to check out the auction. Had a great time. Being there live was a much different experience than just watching on TV. So many cool bikes (and some beaters too).
Some of Chuck's fine craftsmanship went on the block on Saturday! One of our members sold his beautiful custom RD400 race bike. I thought it would have gone for more than the $5K it hammered for. A lot of really nice parts and workmanship on that bike! Kind of wish I had had a bidder badge.
wow even with fees I would have paid that. Great deal.

Yep somebody got a good deal. Even with fees it was only $5500. Surprised it didn't go for more because it was drawing a lot of attention. I could see it from my seat both days and quite a few people were ogling it, taking photos, and inspecting it closely.
a few of the photos I took...
a few more...
and a few more...
and more...
I was told a '74 Ducati 750SS went for $160K and a later 900SS went for $140K.
That's just stupid.
...anyone want to buy some old Ducs?

I was told a '74 Ducati 750SS went for $160K and a later 900SS went for $140K.
There were 3 750SS's. All of them were immaculate (museum quality) and went for huge money. One of them had less than 400 miles. The green frame models are very sought after. The 2 900SS's sold for around $40K not $140K
I wanted to bring this home. Only $7K
Not everything was outrageous money, there were some good deals there.
I know a guy with an 851 in pieces; can't convince him to put it together or sell it to me!
Wade
That green RG500 "Skoal" bike sold for $52,000 plus fees!!! :bang:
I watched last night's TV broadcast of the Friday action and noticed that they cut the footage of the on-stage handlers dropping a vintage Harley bagger on the turntable. The crowd let out a very loud "Oooohh!" when that happened. One guy folded down the rear stand but didn't get the bike rocked back onto it completely to lock it in place and then he just walked away as the bike slowly tipped over onto its side. The auctioneer said later "It's OK, it's still a good bike".
They also didn't air my TV time when the guy right in front of me won the '65 Harley for $25K :whatever:
