I'm glad to seeTomac get it done. Hopefully they still run the nationals.

I only have old rusted up junk from when I restored mine but I Bought a pretty nice repop carb from CHP and the oem air filter housing from them also. Check out Northeast Vintage Honda also for parts.

I generally like my Daytona. Really not concerned with " what it's worth" though. The only time it pissed me off was when I walked in the shed to find it laying on top of my RD350/DS7. Put a hole in the RD's tank 😭
Anyone have a spare RD400 tank?

Looks like the head lamp relay on my Daytona. On the US Daytona it keeps the headlight off until the engine starts up.

Have you checked out the small bore event at Barber? This would turn some heads there

Definitely post up some pics when done. I couldn't find the olive drab when I did my Daytona so I settles on the black chromate. It came out fine but not original.

Not without work. The rear mounts are not the same.

Yep you are the guy! The races were great also. Tony Elias is so hard to make a pass stick on! I felt bad for Beaubier.

I went back and watched the replay and during the intro a guy with an oily pipes gang shirt walked in front of the camera. Anyone here?

That's a nice track bike. I just watched an NSR 250 track bike go for $5500 not far from here in Mississippi. I would have had to sell the RD350 for it but had no time to do so.

Great pics! I had a friend of mine from the UK sitting out by the corkscrew and he just keeps saying how steep it is in person. He watched the parade lap there also and said that those guys were freaking out and tight on the binders coming through that section.

Put on about 100mi to Road America and back. Beautiful day. Lots of great twisties. Showed the bike, watched some AHRMA racing, hung out in the paddocks and met a legend, Mr. Tony Doukas himself.

I met Tony at NOLA for the vintage races, he's a very cool dude and willing to talk about bikes to anyone.

I put TDR reeds in the Daytona. Now I need to find time to ride it.

That was a good read

Turning Wrenches / Re: Steering damper on My rd400

The GSX-R Steering dampers are also able to be rebuilt. You can change oil weights and customize the dampening this way.
Mount it to the reflector hole on the RD400 like the Economy kit.
