Turning Wrenches / Premix with autolube shaft in place
November 01, 2025, 12:34:51 AM
In the process of rebuilding my pump. Will the autolube shaft be damaged if I plug the carb oil intake ports and run it with the pump off the bike?

The Lambretta is great around town but the Daytona is my commuter

Quote from: Scuffed98 on September 11, 2025, 02:16:53 PMDo you know how big the ID and the OD need to be on the spacer?
You could make one but the easiest way is to unbolt the center section from a stock RD disk and cut off all but the center portion.  Spaces the FZR rotor perfectly

How does it feel with the 14mm OE master on there? That ratio is only about 16.64

I don't really have much to compare to TBH. My other current ride is even older with shittier brakes lol. That said, the stopping power is greatly increased without being overly sensitive. I'm very happy with the upgrade

Show Off / FZR rotor, R6 caliper
August 17, 2025, 01:29:34 AM
Had a productive day in the shop and got the FZR rotor and R6 caliper mounted. Happy to report than an RD350 rotor center section spaced the new rotor perfect. Left a little weight on the table by not adding some lightening holes to the caliper mount but i don't have a mill to get too fancy with my design

Turning Wrenches / Re: RD350 Carb Tops and Cables

Quote from: 350GUY on August 10, 2025, 03:44:48 PMThanks guys. I bought a pair of high top carbs off fleebay and unfortunately they did not have the cable guide on them. I just wanted to make sure that they are interchangeable. The above tech. bulletin confirms that they are the same. Thank you  SoCal250 for sharing and the rest for your input, much appreciated. I see that the RZ350 carbs have a similar cable guide fitment on them.
Vespa Motorsport in San Diego has some angled guides. Give them a look

Looks great. How did you attach the caliper bracket to the fork?  Nut on the backside of the fork tabs?

Quote from: m in sc on August 07, 2025, 11:14:11 AMI would recommend a washer on the outside of the damper mounting bolt. I've seen those 'slide' off the bronze bushing. looks good, run the same one on my light-weight rd.

You're right. I was debating whether I should do up that ball end 'aircraft style' with an oversized washer. All fixed now.

I can't say enough about the increase in handling qualities this stabilizer has provided!

Bought a generic steering damper off Amazon and made a bracket from some aluminum

Turning Wrenches / Re: Oil venting from gearbox
August 01, 2025, 01:18:18 AM
Hopefully that's it.  It spit probably 1tbsp twice after wide open runs. I do have the stock vent tube routed over the chain but it still made quite a mess.  Think I'll do a leakdown test if it worsens

Turning Wrenches / Oil venting from gearbox
July 31, 2025, 09:54:54 PM
I'm getting oil venting from the gearbox vent on the back, righthand side of the engine when running near redline on my RD400. Bike runs fine, gearbox oil is right on spec per the dipstick.  Was thinking of connecting a vacuum gauge to the vent and see if I'm getting pressure from the crankcase into the gearbox.  Thoughts?
