Thanks for all the info , here is the thing ... I have a set of spec 2's  (now as pictured) , they were intended for a 1977 rd400 which I am in the midst of finishing , last weekend I bought a 1981 rd350lc , I still have to pick it up this weekend , I was wondering if those pipes will bolt up without too much effort to the Rd350lc , thoughts ?

Does anyone have experience using spec 2 pipes on a Yamaha rd350lc  ?  Does spec 2 make them for lC's ?

I have a question even though I've already gone down this road .... will rd400 wheels bolt  straight onto the rz fork? still use one brake ?

Yes , it was a complete motor rebuild . Only motor was supplied . At first it was going to have points , but I also had that ignition , and they managed to get it installed , now I have to figure out the rest ad I install the motor etc .

Is it always best to replace front and back sprockets when replacing  a chain ? I already   have the  rear sprocket cleaned /installed  as I thought it was still usable ,or shall I bleed more money on this complete  rebuild ? thoughts are appreciated .

yes you are correct  with the colours ,I don't have an additional box with it , I will pull the cover off  one day this week and shoot you an image .

Hi Chuck, I'm not sure the make , I had 3 going into the rebuild (given to the mechanic ) I know one was a newer type electronic ignition . However it had a fitment issue regarding the case , so they/we were going to go with points . in the end they were able to get in installed which I think is better (so far) . If I take off the engine case will you be able to tell in a photo the make ?
