So my brother and I work at a metal stamping shop here in SoCal and we have a full machine shop capable of making just about anything. Ever since we've worked there, these two Bridgeport mills were stashed in a corner of the building as "backups." My brother asked the boss about a month ago if he'd be willing to sell one to us. A week later he came up to my brother and said how much he appreciates how we are into building things and sold us the mill for a smokin' deal. Now time to build a phase converter and get to making some chips!!! Attached are some pictures for your enjoyment. Huge thanks to my dad and my awesome neighbor Dave for helping us move it!

Turning Wrenches / RD400 Ignition Timing (stock points)
February 23, 2020, 08:36:03 PM
Hey all! I need some advice on getting my RD400 ignition timing right. I've heard many say to retard it back a tad to compensate for the crappy pump gas we have now but I'm not sure what to do. Just a little info on what my bike has: DG pipes, bigger jets(obviously), UNI pods with stock "manifolds" and the stock points setup with new points and condenser. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all, I would like to mount a fire extinguisher on my bike somehow. Its a 1.4 pound kidde. Nice and compact. I rarely carry a backpack and would like to come up with something. As the old saying goes, "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." I've seen videos of folks watch their vehicles burn to the ground because they didn't bother to buy a <50 dollar extinguisher!
Thanks!

Show Off / My brake conversion is coming along!

Huge thanks to Sean Skinner at Motorelic (Hooked me up with a spare spacer), Chuck Quenzler, my awesome neighbor Dave who helped with machining, my Dad who also helped me machine the spacer with a brake lathe, and Eric Zanutto for advice.
The spacer that was supplied wasn't quite right so i had to make some adjustments to make it fit precisely.
More pictures to come!

General Chatter / Yamaha RD400 caliper conversion
October 31, 2019, 05:45:47 PM
Hello all! I am pretty new to the forum and have found a gold mine! I am only 19 and have already been hooked by old two strokes! I am in the process of getting my '77 RD400 on the road for the first time in 35+ years and would like to do a brake upgrade. I have seen many great builds of the folks on the forum and would like to give it a shot. So far I have been able to acquire a 2001 r6 caliper and a fzr600 rotor, and am working on the caliper adapter by hand. Pretty much all I need is a rotor spacer. I don't have the precision equipment needed to make one and would like to know if anybody could help me out.
Thanks everybody!
