General Chatter / Expansion Chamber ID help please
April 22, 2020, 01:55:07 PM
I found these for sale.  To my inexperienced eye they look like DGs and I would pass.

The guy thinks they are for RD350 or 400.  $100.

Would they be a decent street pipe for a stock or mildly (pipes, boost, squish, 30mm VMs, emission removal) modified 400F?  I am capable of fab work to change flanges etc.

Thanks!

I think these came with parts that came with my 400F.

Anybody know what they fit?  I'm trying not to keep extraneous stuff.  :taz:

Thanks!

These are strange times and in the spirit of societal co-operation and healthy fear for our lives, my wife and I are getting better and better at staying at home with the dog.  When we are out, exercising, etc., face covering is easy enough, just grab a bandana and make like a bandit...
So what to do with all this extra time, besides listing old junk to sell?  The answer was easy for me:  Clear out the accumulated year and a half worth of crap clogging up the the Garage from remodeling my wife's place in preparation for it to be a rental and for her to move in with me.  Also piled in there was/is the stuff of mine that she said had to go that I can't/won't yet get rid of.  Then, the next layer down is stuff from my late little brother's garage that I needed to bring home.  One thing of his I saw today that particularly tickled him is a pair of Colorado license plates "ML-420" that accidentally translate as "Boulder, Colorado 4/20"   .
Underneath that is the stuff of my dad's I had to keep like a killer US made Bluebird brand cherry picker and engine stand that break down and stash nicely, at least if you have a spare corner for them.  Anyway, a lot of putting away, finding a place for, getting rid of (reluctantly) and cleaning up, in order to Work on my 2Ts!!!  What a concept!  Work on something fun!
So what did I do today?  Something I would normally sneak.  (The high today in Denver was about 25 degrees F.)  Washed parts on the stove and in the sink!  This was a first, under her nose and with permission!  I have done a little exploratory working on stuff in the living room, but I figure I need to tread lightly in the kitchen!  Judicious choice of solvent was probably key to pulling it off.. I used Oil Eater... not very noxious.  Anyway, success all around and I'm really making some progress toward having room to work on the ring dings!
So I figure how about a thread for showing what we can do with this unusual opportunity some of us have right now. What did you do that you can't normally?  Hang in there everyone!  Here's a photo if I can manage it:
