I wanna get the shitty black chipped/flaking paint off some carbs. Is vapor blasting acceptable? What's the best way to get em clean enough to reassemble after?

Finally a day off without rain here in CA. Took all the bikes around the neighborhood after sitting all winter.

I have a tank I got off craig's list for pretty cheap. After giving it the evaporust treatment I found some pin holes. I was able to patch them from the outside with JB weld. It holds gas and doesn't leak but I'd feel more comfortable sealing the inside for prolonged contact with fuel. Anyone use the KBS system?

How much do the brushes effect charging? Rotor seems to test ok as per manual but when I check voltage at the battery with the bike running it jumps all over the place. After 5 to 10 min of running at various rpms voltage drops to 10 or so.  Then if I pull the battery and check it after 10 min it gets back to 12 volts.   AGM battery that's not that old and I re-charge it before testing. Running vintage smoke ignition and rick's regulator/rectifier. I cleaned the face of the rotor up with 600 but I'm leery of the brushes because they aren't square to the face of the rotor.

A pair of 300 mm Hagons fell in my lap. The stock shox are 280mm. Any harm in running the Hagons?

I got 2 sets of pipelyne pipes and they have different baffles. is one type better than the other? also what's the best packing material/method?

lookin to install a V.S. ignition and was wondering the best alternative to the scotch lock it came with.  pictures or drawn diagram would be great

Doin my first rebuild. Disassembly went well.  Took my time and bagged and tagged everything.  Took lots of fotos too.  I got a Vito's crank and I see it has o rings instead of knock pins.  Is this right?

I'm ready to take my motor to the blaster. Have a few questions.

Do i need to mask bearing surfaces
Plug threaded holes
Is vapor blasting ok for parts that will be painted

Lookin for some suggestions for cable-less gauges i can use without a battery. I see scitsu has a tach that will work with a 9v battery... Suppose I could use a cable for the speedo but I don't have a speedo or a speedo cable. But I do have the speedo drive.

Started installing the new clutch parts today and found this one odd plate. What's up with the plate on the right? Looks nothing like any of the other plates old or new.

are they compatible? wanna run minimal wire loom if possible. lights kill switch and maybe signals.
