Looks like I might have to sell a few other bikes to get the bits to build one of these.

Yamaha Factory Specs and Info / SDR 200
December 17, 2023, 08:48:26 AM
July 15, 1987 YAMAHA SDR (2TV)
A light weight sport with a single-seat one-seat structure, a beautiful truss frame, and a water-cooled crank case lead valve single-cylinder 195cc engine with YPVS and YEIS. When the release was announced in June, it caused a great response. The impact was great, but in November, Shiny Black with gray sheets was added. It was a motorcycle that brought out the charm of a beautiful and compact two-stroke sport like Yamaha, which runs briskly with a lightweight body and a moderately powerful engine, but it did not seem to be supported by the usability, and unfortunately it was short-lived. It's over.

May 1992 SUZUKI RG200Γ
A lightweight sport with a powerful TS200R series single-cylinder engine in a compact body of the 125 class. After all, the intermediate displacement does not seem to take root in our country, and like SDR, it ended up short-lived.

Haus of Projects / TZR250 3XV2 waiting for some attention
February 26, 2023, 05:46:42 PM
I bought this bike over 3 years ago, and brought it in from Japan.
It was advertised as a non runner and had no information on why it wasn't running.
But it was very complete and a rare homologation 1 of 500 bike, so I bought it.
When I got it home, I unboxed it and first thing I did was a compression test to see if it was worth the time trying to get it running.
Had excellent compression so I pulled the carbs and cleaned them up, put them back on and got the bike fired up.
No noises and seemed to run quite well considering it was a non runner.... (choke was broke off which I think is why it ended up sitting)
But after I got it running, I noticed my trans oil had water getting in it, so I pulled the trans to get at the seal, and put all new seals throughout the tans and some bearings as well.
Started riding it and ran for that year with no issues.....

But now 3 years later, it is not being as cooperative

It needs a complete rebuild, and luckily I bought most of the parts I needed before covid wiped out the stock of now NLA parts
But I am hoping I can getting running like it had been and put it off for another year, as I was planning on going through my RS250 instead.

Well....time to dig in

Turning Wrenches / Zeel ignition on my 48H….RZ350
August 10, 2022, 05:43:26 PM
Ignition gave out on my RZ, when I was getting ready to load it up into my van after a show a few month's ago.
Took some time to feel like looking into the problem, and came to find out the ignition box gave up.
So.... Instead of wasting money on another used 29K-50, I decided to move to the next generation and get a programmable Zeel....and a new coil just for the Hell of it.

Pulled the old stuff out and made a mount for the new bits....just need to get wiring 100% figured before I start making end plugs to hook back up to stock harness.

The home market is pushing the prices of RZv500R's into the RG500 level and beyond...
Aluminum frame bikes have gained quite a bit over the steel version the past year.

Old dog....My RGV started out as a true dog, and it is pretty old. Like over 30 years old.
Not as old as most the bikes on here, but with a modern Zeel ignition it has new abilities.
The Zeel has a wire for a quick shifter option, and I finally decided to get one adapted to the VJ21 SP project;
Still need to pull off the Lectrons and put the 34 Mikuni's back on, to test out how it functions and get the timing dialed in....kill time is programable.
Took a bit of time figuring out what parts to use to make it work, but it's all Suzuki...

August 24, 2021, 09:04:12 PM
2021 Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials are coming up this Sunday.
Was going with my RGV big bore, but the world caused some changes in plans, and I am taking my Hayabusa instead.
Friend I met there several years ago is taking his 82-83 TZ with a RZ350 based engine.
24 hour road time from my house to the salt.....not looking forward to that part.

This is a copy and paste from this web site....there is more information than what I listed below
https://mr-bike.jp/mb/archives/3740

April 1984 KR250 (KR250A)

Kawasaki's first water-cooled two-stroke replica was unveiled at the 1983 Tokyo Motor Show as a replica model of the KR250, which achieved the feat of winning four consecutive WGP titles. The in-line 2-cylinder tandem twin engine uses a system called RRIS that uses both a rotary valve and a reed valve to enhance power and accelerate in the medium speed range. The frame is also Kawasaki's first aluminum, with a three-piece structure of square pipes, and the AVDS anti-nose dive system is also adopted, and the specifications are comparable to rival cars. But the only miscalculation is that style. An original design different from the works racer KR was adopted, but the world is the entrance to the racer replica supreme era. There was a strong demand for a design that copied the works racer in style at the same level as the spec supreme principle. Unfortunately, the KR was not a big hit, as the rival car that appeared earlier was remodeled and continued to sharpen. Initially, there were two colors, lime green and galaxy silver, which are the image colors of Kawasaki, but in July, Polar White x Sunbeam Red, Ebony x Fire Cracker Red, and Fire Cracker Red x Gray Stone were added. In addition, as an option, two types of "KR250GP World Champion Stickers" have been set, which indicate that the Works Racer KR250 has won the WGP Champion.

Engine: Water-cooled 2-stroke in-line 2-cylinder rotary disc reed valve ● Total displacement (inner diameter x stroke): 249cc (56 x 50.6mm) ● Maximum output: 45ps / 10000rpm ● Maximum torque: 3.7kg-m / 8000rpm ● Overall length x Overall width x height: 2035 x 685 x 1185 mm ● Axial distance: 1360 mm ● Dry weight: 133 kg ● Front and rear tires: 100 / 90-16 / 110 / 80-18 ● Body color: Lime green, Galaxy silver ● Price at the time of release: 498,000 yen

January 1988 Kawasaki KR-1 (KR250B)

Due to the strong demands of the ever-sharpening racer replica market, the KR250S has undergone a full model change to the more racer-style KR-1. The engine, which has changed from a unique tandem twin to an orthodox parallel 2-cylinder engine, is set to a forward tilt of 50 degrees, and the intake system has also been redesigned to a crankcase reed valve. Equipped with KIPS, a new exhaust device, it is mounted on an aluminum twin tube type e-BOX frame with increased rigidity by extruded material with a square cross section. The racer-style cowl shape achieves a CdA value of 0.26 and significantly reduces air resistance. It is also equipped with a bungee hook, which is a retractable loading hook, and an accessory case under the rear seat, improving convenience.

Engine: Water-cooled 2-stroke 2-cylinder crankcase reed valve ● Total displacement (inner diameter x stroke): 249cc (56 x 50.6mm) ● Maximum output: 45ps / 10000rpm ● Maximum torque: 3.7kg-m / 8000rpm ● Overall length x overall width × Overall height: 2005 × 690 × 1115mm ● Shaft distance: 1365mm ● Dry weight: 123kg ● Tire front / rear: 100 / 70-17 / 130 / 60-18 ● Body color: Polar white x Lime green, Fire cracker red x Polar White ● Price at the time of release: 563000 yen

Back in the late 70's cool cars could be found cheap behind barns and in junkyards...cheap for a kid working at a gas station part time.
My dad owned a speed shop throughout the 60's, so i knew what to look for if I could find at the right price.
I was looking for speed at a teenagers price point....before I realized a bike could be faster and cheaper.
Wheeling and dealing till I got my first Vette (427-435HP) before 20....It was my first ever bank loan....I had $2000 cash and $4000 from loan to buy it.

The 68 Firebird was my moms....400/M21 4 speed/4.10 12 bolt
The 70 Firebird with 454 turbo/M22 4 speed and 77 front/rear end was my dads

The rest were mine.... and knowing where to find the good stuff, with my hard earned cash.

Not sure if this is the place for this information, but I thought it could be helpful to those trying to decipher the model they may have imported.

Will need a translator, but it is good for the pictures even without.

Just out of interest about stroker values and where they are going...
Values in Japan have gone through the roof on bikes they were never able to have themselves when new due to licensing regulations.
H1/H2...GT750's and GT550's ......they are leaving the US and going back to their homeland.
