General Chatter / Auction Fail
August 27, 2021, 08:18:00 PM
So I go down to the auction house this morning to check out the non runners. They actually have  some bikes in really nice condition so I bid on three of them that would make nice flips. Don't usually win any because the prices get too high to make it worthwhile. But they also had an RD60! It was complete, but pretty rough so would need restoration.I dropped out at $700. I think whoever got it paid around $1000 or so if you include auction fees. So I didn't get any bikes at all as usual.
I was also trying to get a golf cart. So I'm driving down the road with my wife explaining to her what I'm bidding on and how high I'm willing to go and she says stop being such a cheapskate and just buy the damn golf cart. So I glance at my phone and see the auction counter going down with just a few seconds left. I smash the button and tell my wife "fine, I'm buying it". So we get to our destination and I check the auction results. I hit the wrong button and ended up buying some total piece of junk cart I don't want! Worst part is the cart I wanted went for 900 and I was willing to go to $1000!
So now I have to pay the renege fee, or pay for the piece of crap and tell them to keep it there and put it in the next auction. Moral of the story, no bidding while driving. At least not when you wife is in the car.....

Show Off / Garage Storage
June 07, 2020, 05:40:05 PM
Trying to get my garage fixed up so I can set up my work area (moved to this new house about 1.5 years ago, but been focused on home renovations). First thing was to get organized and find a better place to store all my bike parts. See pics for the solution.

General Chatter / RD400 hose clamps
May 27, 2020, 12:39:26 AM
I am looking for the original style clamps for the rear brake cylinder to reservoir hose. So far I am unable to find a picture. Does anyone have a pic or know what type of clamps were used?
I am fixing the brakes and am trying to do resto style in case I decide to restore this bike.
Thanks!

Haus of Projects / RD400 Back on the road?
April 08, 2020, 08:24:38 PM
Not too long ago I picked up this RD400. The story is it was dropped in 2000 and parked. I got it from a guy who got it from a guy who got it from the guy who dropped it. The plan for now is to keep everything original and get it back on the road. Figured if I posted here, I might actually get around to getting it done!

What size AGM battery will fit in 76 RD400 stock battery box. I'm not seeing a replacement listed anywhere for the stock code. Thank you

Wondering what any of you all may have used as a replacement rear master cylinder?I will assume a mounting bracket will need to be made. Any other mods?
Thanks
