Aprilia takes the win in Texas  :whoop:

First time I have seen someone purposely lay a bike on its side to get pictures of the bottom...

Fair deal considering that most end up selling for around $10,000 on average it seems now.

More development
More HP
More desire to do one myself....

Really need to start looking at what to sell for the $$$

Turning Wrenches / Re: vapor blasting carbs

Same one I've been using for years on all kinds of parts...from carbs to frames to cylinders to...just about anything. Only tool I have bought from harbor freight that has worked more than a couple times without breaking.

Thanks guys.
It is going on one year since I brought this bike home....and still no where close to being done. Think my days of rebuilding are starting to come to a close.

That is a lot of various issues to try and find...no wonder the previous owner gave up on it. Hope you get to ride it soon

I got my tapered head bearings installed. Emulators came this week also, and then made some measurements from them and my lowering spacer. Cut my springs today to get the right preload, and did another dry build of them to see if my calculations got the bike to level out like I wanted.

Looks like what I had in mind, so apart the fork go again and then add the piston ring, oil seals, dust caps, and oil...then I'll be done with the front for good....I hope

Time to turn some attention...and $$$ to the motor rebuild now.

That really does look like quite a deal, if I was only one state away, I would be on the road right now to get it. Although that's the last thing I need....parts are available, but only through Japanese auctions.

What is going on with the gas fill area on that tank?
Is the tank that ate up, up top?

Haus of Projects / Re: RZ350 TZR 3XV Hybrid

I compared my RZ350 swing arm to my 3XV-SP swing arm, and the 3XV is basically 4 inches longer... wondering how that extra wheel base will change its handling? Although the 3XV bits are basically bomb proof compared to the RZ front and rear, and definitely will give more control.
Bike looks great so far

Still have a long way to go.

Fork's showed up today, (after 9 weeks) so I did a dry build on them with some rebound spacers to drop it a little. Still want the front a little lower, but with some weight on it, it should level out when completely done.
Will hopefully get some emulators ordered next week sometime, then I can put the front end on for good.

Quote from: Dvsrd on March 11, 2024, 05:47:10 PMI thought the TZ 700/750 came as a result of the GL750 four cylinder, watercooled prototype street bike?

Yes

From what I have read about the 400 version, not very impressive according to Japanese magazines of the time.
Looks good though
