I use the Harbor Freight and Cycle Gear front wheel stands. They work great on my RD400s.

I bought the all metal one because I was worried the plastic cover of the smaller model might deform or yield.  I've only run my once, but it appears to work fine.

I use the shop rag version of "use a penny" except I put the handle of the wrench under a small stool and ask my wife to come sit by me for a spell.  So far she hasn't noticed what she's being asked to do.  I may be living on borrowed time....

I spoke with Doug many times over the years and he helped me get my RD400 back into racing shape.  Always enjoyed our conversations.  He will be missed.

I have Geico, had had since I moved to Alabama.  I've never needed to use them, so don't know how they are for claims.  Farm Bureau was very good to me when I had a claim back in the 1990's.

I feel the same as Teazer. This is the only other motorcycle on my bucket list.

I waited 30 days.  No issues after that.

Wife hit every bump in the road she could find on the way home after the procedure.

How many kids did she have by then?

While living in Houston close to the ocean, my UNIs lasted 3-4 years when oiled on my RD400.  It was always kept in a garage.  I haven't installed the new UNIs I have for it now that I live in Alabama..

Is it a crack or a casting mark?

I have a '82 GPX1100 front rotor on my RD400.

I have a set for my road race RD400.  I'm told they are a little peaky, meaning they make most of their power up in the higher end of the RPM range.  I haven't tried mine yet, but have a friend who has them on his Harry Barlow tuned RD400.  They sound awesome and I could never keep up with him in a straight line.

The Retrodyne pipes I've seen are supposed to help generate more torque, yet limit the peaky horsepower spike high in the RPM range.  Mark Morrow runs these pipes and likes them.  I may try a set in the future.  They are more a custom pipe than a mass produced set.  But they are made in the USA.
