Quote from: Webber on January 03, 2024, 08:10:16 PMThanks a ton for all the input, went down the cpi big bore rabbit hole, TZ, etc. As it stand I'm leaning towards this:

Cylinders: Webike LC jugs (Nikasil is nice to see)
LC set up TBD

Exhaust: Tyga or JL

Clutch: TBD

Carbs: Still mulling over the idea of smart or lectron even knowing the potential top end loss and ridiculous price. Dug into 2-1 like the banshees run. Pretty hard to find upsides with that set up haha.

Ignition: Vape with Zeel

The Tyga pipes look sweet. Much better than the JL in my opinion. The stuff I have bought from Tyga is top quality.

I have GSXR rear sets on a 350. From a newer GSXR where the shift lever is separate from the foot peg and the linkage runs straight up. I dont use the shifter or linkage and prefer to use a solid shift lever running backward and shift GP pattern. Doesnt take ling to get used to and there is no slop from the linkage. I think the shift lever is from an 80's air cooled Suzuki GS

Quote from: SoCal250 on December 06, 2023, 12:27:49 PMI think part of the reason it's overbid is because bidders may be under the impression it has a Calif title, which it doesn't seem to. There is an error in the listing. I have tried to point this out on the Iconic site but my comment from 2 days ago never appeared and is in "pending" limbo status.
I think the winning bidder might get a big surprise if they're expecting to register it in CA.

Ad corrected to Oregon title. So if purchased could you not transfer the title to California if you live there?

Quote from: This Old Daytona on December 06, 2023, 02:44:02 AMOkay, basic question. Are US Daytona RD400F swingarms different than a standard RD?
Jeeeez if that Metachex swinger ain't awesome. But I also liked the middle one above w the nice axle adjusters..sadly it seems there ling gone☹️

As nother quick question... I have boxes of old RZ parts I know the fork tubes are interchangeable at 35 what about the rear swing arm I don't really care if it's steel or not if it's " free". Lol I easily can adapt it for twin shocks.

I'm not up to date on the specific differences from the Daytona "F" vs 76-78 RDs

Thanks for any reply, it's appreciated.

RZ swingarm will need the pivot tube narrowed about 1/4" to fit in a 350 or 400 frame. I assume the Daytona will need the same.

Turning Wrenches / Re: 1st post. Daytona questions

On my 73 350 I have 07 GSXR forks and Cognito Moto spoked hub on the front, a RD400 disk brake spoked hub on the back and a 421 RZ / Banshee stuffed in there.
Front end just needed the correct bearings for the headstock from Allballs fork conversion website, and steering stops modified. Rear end needed some spacers and I lengthened the swingarm 2" mainly to fit the 130 rear tire.
Been a bit lazy so I have not started work on it, but I am planning on switching to a SV650 swingarm if I can mod it to fit, 17" wheels and maybe a mono shock.

You can make just about anything you want fit. It may not be a good idea to others, but It is your idea.

The keep it completely stock crowd tend to get upset and tell you that your mods wont work, but each to their own.

My bike runs and rides way better than it did stock, but the twin radial front brakes did take a bit of getting used to.

General Chatter / Re: Trac Dynamics RD 350/400 swingarms

Quote from: general_piffle on November 10, 2023, 01:37:20 AMThey look totally out of place on what are now vintage/classic bikes.

Much better off going for an Accu-Products chromoly swinging arm. Lighter, stronger, and much better looking.

The Accu-Products chromoly swinging arm is made by Cox Custom Creations.

Have to agree.

The bright yellow battery really compliments the look and those mirrors will give you a great view of your knees

When I first got my banshee coolhead I trial fitted one dome without orings and it went in easy and was a pretty tight fit. I had to give it a bit of a whack with a deadblow to bet it out.
If yours has sealant in there it may hard to get out. Depending on the sealant used, some heat may help
