We have all that stuff as well, admittedly more expensive but top quality oem yamaha fittings and the oil line is the thicker walled Parts Unlimited stuff that works well for oil, vent, drain lines and doesn't collapse under vacuum. Map747 and I talked earlier this week about his titan and I referred him here to the forum for advice. Yamaha just recently discontinued the original black oil line, but the parts unlimited line comes in black or clear.

PM me your name and I'll check on them. I know we're out of 400 points, but pretty sure R5's are here.

What plugs/heat range are you running?

Keep in mind they're rubber seals and there will be some stiction on both sides. Might take a little push when installingon on the crank and gear. You can lube with a little oil if needed, but I've done it many times dry as with all the RD/R5 engine seals. Do not use liquid gasket or yamahabond on them.  :twocents:

Both the RD OEM and R5 aftermarket RH crank seals are marked
40-62-10 (ID,OD,W)

Both install numbers in with the castleassions against the bearing

Quote from: rded on July 06, 2023, 08:22:35 PMHas anyone come across R5 crank seals that do not fit? The LH one in particular. The one I have is too large and the ID is too small for the gear to fit.

LH side is ignition side (no gear)

Both the RD OEM and R5 aftermarket LH crankseals are marked
20-40-10 (ID,OD,W)
Both install numbers out

I have some alternatives on the way, nearly identical sans the NGK logo. And the VAPE wires/caps are 0k, copper core.

The NGK 5K and 0K 90 degree plug caps have also been discontinued.

Continental Classic Attack - the first true radial for the RD. Expensive but next level tires. And in the right sizes 90/90 & 110/90. Most shops are out of them right now but some the big on line tire houses might have it.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Gets a little tougher every year but we're hanging in there. Our goal this year is to resurrect the Moto Carerra pipes!
Sincerely
John & Terry
ps I always share these comments/compliments with Terry.

as others have said get some upgraded hardware (see below)

4.5mm thick washer, longer bolt
Measure the depth to make sure the bolt isn't too long and bottoming out
torque to 20 ft/lbs (dry)

yes it unscrews there, it's just tight. Use something to get a better grip on it or gently use some pliers on it.

Pressurize to 6lbs. Any loss more than a 1lb / minute is a problem.
