The RD400F right control switch is a 1-year-only and 1-model-only part. Unique to the Daytona like a lot of other parts. It's going to be tough finding a nice one.

You can always repaint the one you have and install new decals.

I used a repro standard RD400 switch and wired the headlight into the switch, deleting the headlight relay. I much prefer the manual switch over the relay.

I got initial jetting specs from M in SC ( Thanks Mark!!) and ordered the brass from Niche Cycle.
Main 230
Pilot 40
Stock needle
P6 needle jets
Clip will be in the middle and air screws initially at 1.5
I also ordered some P4s and received a set of TM28 slide springs. The latter should help with the throttle effort and save my old wrist.

Looking to replace my right kill switch assembly.
Mine is kinda faded.

I see plenty on Ebay, But...
They all have the On/OFF light switch knob.

My bike does not have that switch.
Headlights come on & stay on when bike starts.

Mine is just 'blanked" off.
does not look like a plug, but part of the casting.

There is a guy on CL that I think has one in San Jose, but he does not respond to emails.

Turning Wrenches / "Paired" carbs like the Gamma TM28SS
« Last post by bhh1989 on January 20, 2021, 12:25:47 PM »
I used to be able to find more about this on the old site but I've lost my notes.  I am a fiend for things seeming like OEM setups, so I was always searching for "mated", left and right TM carbs I could update my RD with, instead of buying 2 new carbs each with their own choke and fuel supply.

I know the Suzuki RG250 carburetors are mated TM28SS's - one choke, shared fuel supply, left and right carburetor pair.

Does anyone know of any other paired TM carbs?  And what differentiates a TM carb from a TMSS?

A mated TM30 setup would be absolutely sweet, but I think only the WR200 (single cylinder) had a TM30..

I've seen a few cool looking CX builds in the past, that's definitely not one of them

friend of mine actually won a cx650 cafe. looked good but from 5 feet, was put together fairly well. I actually know the guy who built it and actually worked on it a bit for him years ago.  looked 3x as good as this bike in the ad, Jimmy struggled to get 3500 out of it when he sold it after he won it. (after the original builder tried getting 4500 and had -zero- bites)  Jimmy did donate the $ to the DGR as that's where he won the bike at the raffle. But he had high hopes... then loathed it. and he essentially paid 10 bucks for it. if that's not a testament to the CX cafe , nothing is. they are turds.

my 70 is all r5. the 72, however, is rd 6 speed lower end, r5 top, y-boot, early (34) mm xs 650 front end w/disc.  I mean, basically all the same.
