I need storage space as I work on my new rebuilt shop. I looked at pre-built wood storage barns but they damn near cost what a real building does.
I saw a video on YouTube showing a guy building a 12x20 portable garage from Harbor Freight and it looked pretty good. So I waited for the next 20% off store wide sale and bought one.
My property doesn't have a real flat area as most of my property is on a slope. Also I didn't want to put it directly on the ground so I built a pad from plastic pallets and plywood with a raised perimeter made from 2x6's and mounted it on that.

thats a good solution Nick had similar @ his rental house in NJ years ago, it worked well.

where'd you get the blue pallets? I keep scrounging used wood pallets from local HW & AG supply stores, but they don't hold up well for very long. Those blue ones look like a much better solution for a couple things I need off the ground near my shops.

There's a pallet warehouse in Tulsa that sells them for 10 bucks a piece.

That's a great solution. How long does something like that last? Suitable for storms?

I put it up 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Least week we had severe wind and rain storms.
The thing didn't budget and suffered no damage. The material is pretty strong.
I had positioned the pallets so the rain coming down the slope ran under them. The cover sides have extra long skirts that make rain drain off past the floor level and keeps the water out of the inside.
I'm betting it should last quite a while.

UV light kills them, the cover only last a couple of years. Put a tarp over it and it lasts forever. They will take a surprising amount of wind load... do you get tornadoes where you live?

Wow, looks like a great solution!

Yes we are smack dab in the middle of Tornado Alley. In fact a month or so ago we had a big one that missed us by about 2 miles south of us. But it was the 1st to come that close in 25 years. I worry about hail more than tornadoes 🌪
Good tip on the tarp though 😊
