So, literally 20 years ago i gave this GT550 to my friend, deron, who ive known for 30? years +.

It was given to me with a blow up motor from my friend eric who ive known for 32 years. He rode this in HS before i ever got a bike, motor died and it came my way. I really didnt want it, but Deron wanted a 2 stroke and def not a tinkerer, so i figured this would be good. put in a salvage motor, and ran it for 12? years on that till it wore out. rebuilt it and fit  an NOS () top end on it from paul miller a few years ago.

Has a set of lester wheels and dual discs from a water buffalo, rz fairing i gave him years ago (it was in really bad shape don't get upset), j&r power pipes .

its definitely NOT a super clean project, but it just keeps chugging along. 2 weeks ago he dropped it off, we cleaned carbs, painted body work, did this and that, and repaired charging system since the rotor was dead. (ohmed at .9 ohm.. needs to be 4-5).

now ready for deals gap trip and running nice and strong (for what it is, these are definitely not fast by any means). ive been maintaining this thing for all those years with deron, which is weird, because i've never owned a bike that long.  :dawg:

Next up is his 82 gs1100, topend is slap worn out.

What's that crazy thing behind the GT, Mark?

That started life as a CSR305 kawasaki. Not mine. I have a fabricator friend that got bored one day....
