I have my RD350 side cases sanded and getting ready for paint. I would like them to look similar to factory (black paint with the bare aluminum stripes) I guess masking is the best way? (not sure but doesn't look like they were masked from factory) I am not a painter and I know they won't be perfect,...Just want them to look good as possible.
Any tips would be appreciated, Thanks

This is what I do:

I mask the stripe and then bead or sand blast the cover. After blasting but before painting I polish the stripe so that I don't have to worry about scratching the new paint. once they are polished to the desired finish I mask the stripes very carefully. I use PJ1 satin black case paint. I always cure it in the oven at about 200-250.

Got it, Sounds like a good plan. How long should they cure? (in the oven)

m in sc

be safe, leave em in for 45 mins to an hour after reaching temp. then leave in oven let cool down with heat off.
