Hello all,

Does anyone know any aftermarket replacement options for a stock rd petcock.  I have a stock tank with a stock petcock.  I rebuilt both the gas cap and petcock however the left side carb fuel line does not fill all the way to the nipple on the petcock.  My experience with the stock petcock is that it does not seem to flow very well or it seems to flow uneven.  I set both float heights to I believe 15 mm.  Don't quote me on the height but they are set to the stock setting. I don't care it it appears stock or not.  If anyone has ideas as to why this is occurring please let me know.  When racing the bike it starts starving for fuel under heavy loads/higher fuel demand.  As always thanks for the help and knowledge on this forum.

that's normal. they feed from the same common chamber in the petock. if you are concerned about 'is this thing working right?' then remove the lines, and cap one, and then attach a longer hose to the other one into a glass jar, container, whatever. put it on reserve, and time it for 30 seconds. turn petock off. measure fuel level. pout that back into tank. repeat test but with lines reversed. if they match (and they will im sure) petock is fine. don't worry about seeing air trapped in there.  however, economy cycle sells a really nice reproduction petock that it as good as oem, i run a few of them.

Thanks m in sc.  That's a good idea to measure the flow but i agree with what you said about it.  When i remove the line it seems to flow fine.  Its just frustrating when i look at it and i am trying to figure out what is going on with the bike when it is not running right.  When i was racing it is seemed to be starving for fuel.  When i would rev it up the little bit of fuel in the line with disappear and fuel would trickle down the line into the float bowl.  Also worried about blowing the motor due to being lean.  I took carb off and cleaned  it.  I also moved the float height a little bit.  After that it filled to the top and ran good. Thanks again.
