dt400mx 1977/78 wiring

Good day folks,

it has been a while but now I am back into building.

I have engines completed for a couple of projects, one dt250mx, one dt400 mx. question is this.

I have the stators for both, they are cdi type and that is all I have. I plan to wire them with the minimal amount of wiring necessary to make them run. I  have access to a couple of cdi black boxes and have coils etc, but how to wire? do I need a battery or will they run without?

does anyone have a pointer to a colour wiring diagram for the above models, I am assuming they are roughly the same?

any advice will be much appreciated.
