Scarfed this dude up last week, and now the fun begins!

This bike was piled in a corner partially taken apart for 5 years, and it's unknown how long it sat before that. Motor turns smoothly, shifts, and has compression so there is hope.

The body work is just hung on for the photos, has lots of brutalized screw-holes and tabs, but the bike is un-crashed with about 11K miles (19K km). New battery is on the way, so no progress updates until spark is verified and the carbs are cleaned. If the motor needs work beyond a top-end, it goes up for sale, but I'm going to hope for the best.

Gray bike never imported to the U.S., but lucky - clear Box-A title, now in my name. Fortunately they were sold (in limited numbers) in Canada, so some parts are somewhat available on this continent. Updates to follow.

Cool, you don't see many of the old NS models around much. Seems to be quite a few NSRs around though.
Looking forward to the progress, and hopefully things trend positive with the resurrection and you keep it.

Thank for the encouragement everyone!
I'm currently in the parts acquisition stage; I did find the Lt. handlebar switch (mine turned white and the signal button is missing) but the seller is in Ukraine which concerns me a little. I'll probably have to bite the bullet on where things come from as many 'breakers' are in Japan too.

Wish I was still able to road race; everything I've read says the NS model really shines on the track - guess they are kinda peaky, I hope!

Auctions Yahoo would be the place to look for MC11 parts.
Pretty sure most parts are NLA from Honda, I know they are for NSR250's
Pretty sure the frame on the NS250R is the same basic frame/bodywork as the NS400R

Hey Busa, thanks for the info!

The NS400's are very similar; the upper fairings appear the same, but the lowers are slightly different as near is I can tell from the pictures. There is the usual Chinese reproduction bodywork available for the NS400 (super cheap - like an omen), and the sellers do not claim a retro-fit to the NS250.

I did think of buying one of the pre-painted-Honda-Blue NS400 sets (save a lot on paint) because there are no graphics kits I could find of either generic stock or Rothman's schemes; plenty for the NSR250 though.

Good progress so far - finally found the bike under the dirt! As soon as I receive some carb rebuild parts, I should be just about ready to see if it fires up; everything else seems to check-out fine electrical wise. It is in better condition than it looked buried in the seller's garage.

Was looking this AM for some parts for my bikes on yahoo ( I look for parts almost every day actually)
Here's a link for your bike

Thanks for the link! Another 2T-Honda friend of mine sent a similar link showing how reasonable the NS's are in JP; mine would be a rough parts-bike there.
YahooJP is definitely a drool factor - searching from your link, I found several listings for 1950's Yamha YA-1's including a whole bike. One cold almost buy a complete bike for the value of a few parts in the USA. Hopefully I can get to that restoration project soon - it is a 1955:
