Interesting that he used Grom forks and not huge oversize forks like  most builds I see.[

thats very nicely done.

he must have gone with the racetech kit for the grom forks, they increase the travel quite a bit. interesting choice, love the tail section too.

Hopefully those Grom forks save some weight as well?

m in sc

not really.. they are essentially regular forks in usd guise, the are really nothing special or particularly light.

Them grom USD forks are of 3.9 in. travel......less than the RD forks. Would this have any negative effect on the handling/cornering, braking etc. ?

if you use the racetech stuff, it gives you more travel. ask how i know. ;)

I mean, depends how much you usually compress your rd forks. I know on a stock bike i see more travel with the 'sticks and twig' stock stuff then if i have emulators in there.

on grom forks, here's me putting the racetech kit in mine:

because i didnt want the extra travel on actual grom, i turned the rods down on the lathe and retapped the rod, this had to be in in 14 or 15.

Very neat Mark, you are always ahead of the game!
This is good info, thanks for sharing.
I guess you would also have to fab up a spacer to run between the hub at the fork tube/leg?
