I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he's really lazy and his sawzall was the closest tool.

Probably cause it is difficult to pull the motor with the heads attached and he did not want to take the motor apart. Or crashed bike / damaged frame or maybe he works at one of those used car part junkyards.

Got a response today! Plan was to use the assembly in a cart! Says the pipes may be dg or some other for $200 seems kinda high for used dg, no? Not that great anyway?
