What are the advantages and drawbacks of mixing these motors/transmissions for street applications?  Will pipes that are tuned for a 250 work on R5's?

Pipes will work.

what exactly are you asking about? rd250 bottom and r5 top or other way around? clarify.  :umm: 6 speed trans is always better in my opinion though. I always look for 6th on my r5.

Greaser Greg

Yes,  r5 top on rd250 bottom. So more gears and a quicker primary ratio?
How much power do the reed valves add to the smaller displacement engine as stock? Anywhere close to the r5?

rd250 isnt a far cry from the 350 power wise.  if you have a complete r250 motor, just install it.  :twocents: It just sort of depends what exactly you want? r5 with a 6 seed tranny and 350 primary gearing is fun. however, you should use the 250 oil pump and gear if you plan on keeping the primary gearing as 250.

Greaser Greg

Hmm, food for thought. Thanks!
Now, on to my next post over yonder.
