I'm getting tired of saying it's not an "RD", the few that know the difference are appreciated !

Now that I have an RD top end I don't argue... at this point it's R5 tins only.

Hahaha mine is now an RD350 frame, R5 tins, RD bottom end, R5 top end, R5 drum brakes, RD 400 swinger.  A real Bitsa.  I would never try to explain that to the average onlooker their eyes would glaze over before I was done.  "It's an R5" is my stock answer.

Purposely building a bitsa bike myself, that way I don't feel bad about cutting tabs and all that.  DS7 frame, RD350 center cases/crank/tranny, R5 top end, DS7 side panels, RD350 tank... The R5/DS7 had such cooler looking engines, forks and drum brakes.  Lends to a much better looking custom bike.

I always loved the look of a drum brake.  Here's my bitsa with all rechromed bits..

my 70 is all r5. the 72, however, is rd 6 speed lower end, r5 top, y-boot, early (34) mm xs 650 front end w/disc.  I mean, basically all the same.
