Engine/Crank case nut size

Can someone please confirm the size of the nut please that sits on the 8 studs that holds the crankcase together, bolted down by them cylinder heads? I am unable to remove the 8 studs from the bottom half , They just wouldn't budge. seems like I will have to buy the appropriate size nuts and then lock/loosen em.TIA

just an m8x1.25

grab a stud extractor and maybe use some heat to loosen it.

Just pulled all of mine out, they were pretty much glued in.
I just used 2 flanged nuts and tightened them together and used the bottom one to unscrew it,
Just used a ton of heat, torch comes in handy at times lol

for sure, its a solid old school way to do it. I pulled all of the ones out of the motor last year in about 10 minutes with stud extractor and my dewalt nut driver. replaced with new ones from yambits.
