Hi guys. Have a set of DG400 perf heads that were cut and o ringed by Scott Clough. They are fine but thought I would have them re-anodized. Or is powder coating the way now? Any vendor reccomendations. I am in NH but might have to send them out of state. Help me !

Thanks Russ. I meant cerakoted not powder my fault. Will look locally first.

I've heard people used "ColorsInc" in Indiana with good results, never tried them though as there is someone local to me ill go to.

If you want them to look original, you will need to have them gold anodized.

Powder wouldn't look right, but it's not going to cause any heat issues.

Harley has powder coated their cylinders with standard powder for years.

The difference isn't significant.

Thank You Aaron . Not sure how they would know what the original color would be? I have had a bunch of these heads and most are original just faded. I have some that are much brighter and have obviously been re-anodized but not necessarily the same color as original. What would you tell the anodize company? Will they know what a non faded version would look like? Sorry. Alot of questions

They might be able to send you a small sample piece. I would try to get in contact with them and see.

If you have a piece with the color you want, it's best to show that to the company (and leave it with them) and have them commit to getting your parts that color.

A good photo of the correct color would be the next best thing, if a piece with the correct color isn't available.

You will need to find a shop that is more on the custom side, rather than the production side, to get what you want.

I personally used Colors Inc in Indiana as mentioned above, perhaps 15 years ago. Had the heads and swinger done together so they match, beautifully.... All done via US Mail.   FYI I used the gold color straight from their palette, not worrying about original since at this point in life who knows what "original" even was.  They still dazzle.
