I have been trying to sign up for the tdr250 forum for over 6 months now but I dont get a reply/confirmation from the mods.

https://tdr250.co.uk/forum/

I really want access to all the info on this forum to use for my tdr.

Even worse, my ip is banned because i tried signing up with a dummy email because hotmail/Gmail is not accepted? I emailed the mods multiple times but dont get an answer.

"You have been permanently banned from this board.

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

Reason given for ban: Found in the Stop Forum Spam database 255 times

A ban has been issued on your IP address."

Hopefully there is someone able to grant me access.

Thanks

I was just talking to another member here about how the Suzuki2strokes forum is basically defunct. I can neither recover my my account or create a new one. I wonder if it's the same owner as the TDR forum.

Turns out forums are just dying.

GoDaddy shows the domain name "tdr250.co.uk" as being owned by a URL brokerage firm, and for sale for $9.99.
Looks like it is long gone.

But being able to have access to all the info stored on it would be very nice

depending on who owned it and if they kept backups is what matters. Also why i periodically download the backups here

It was very sad to see RGV250.co.uk shut down.
Tons of very useful as well as important info on building as well as history on those bikes...basically all lost now

You have to be a member to access it?  If not, you could look on the Internet Archive for backups of it.

It still works fine. I was just looking at it a few minutes ago. There are rarely new posts these days but all the old technical data is still in tact.

It was a bitch for me to get a login. The site owner blocks GMAIL and some other emails from registering because of getting bombarded with spam.

Try this email if you haven't already to ask for access.

And today it's back! The Mod must have paid the bill or the cleaning lady finished vacuuming and plugged the server back in

This topic reminds me of the website NATS (North American Two Strokes); it disappeared a few years ago without any notice or warning and some of the most comprehensive info concerning racing 2-strokes and especially the TZ's including an unofficial TZ750 Registry worldwide was permanently lost forever. Had any of the active posters known, the entire sight would have been backed up many times; I learned my lesson on backups, but too late. Now my 'Document file' has grown epically and saved to Flash Drive every week.

There's a thing called "The Wayback Machine." It's found at www.archive.org. It's a non-profit internet archive library search tool. My understanding was that they have access to extensive time-stamp data "snapshots" of the internet. I've never actually tried to really use it myself but I know it exists. A lot of things like old forums can be found in the library.

I've seen things that have been pulled from it so I know it works to some degree. Supposedly they have petabytes of internet backup data.
