From experience I can say that Jspooner rearsets are super comfortable and easy to install.

The "ZZ Top" paint does have its charm, but i do like the stock paint.

The engine I don't mind working on. The terrible electrics I've grown accustomed to. The 40 year old dry rotted rubber and seals are manageable.
This time it's the shaft and associated parts. There is not as much satisfaction in working on that stuff for me.
But they are a pretty awesome zen bike when the stars align!

I think that's a great price point. The fact that they would have better flanges would be the icing on the cake.

This winter I'm re-habbing a 77 Guzzi t3. Last winter I put in a bunch of work on my R5. I have to say the old two stroke was much more rewarding to work on. The old pasta cycle is fighting me a bit.....
Next winter I'm thinking an RD is in my future.

~THE SPEED SHOP~ / Re: Pipe identification Thread

JL Street Retros, emphasis on Street. Sound cool, allow center stand, look weird, broad spread of power, lighter than stock... barely.

The black pipes are J&R pipes with RD350 headers that allow a center stand. Power comes on at 6k-8.5k but are fairly flat before that. Pretty heavy, look old school are easy to re-pack and apparently came with tapered propriety headers that are near impossible to find..
