  Calling that stuff 'flood damaged' is a bit of a stretch.  There is no fresh water over at that part of the state.  His motorcycles were covered in sea water.  Literally sitting at the bottom of the ocean for 3-4 days.  No thanks, at any price.

I have seen where a guy had a Superbird and a Daytona under water from that flood, both HEMI cars I think....heart breaking for sure.

That SP would be a sweet little rocket to play on...Magtek's, dry clutch, close ratio trans, full adjustable suspension, .....incredible bikes, with same quality as the RC30, and crankcases as the factory RS250's
10, 000 is still a bit high, considering every bearing in the bike should probably be changed.

The KR-1R he talked about....now that is the rarest SP version of all 250's ever built...
But very hard to prove they are real.

This is a $5k bike to me.  I'd buy it for that if I had the money.  I doubt anyone would buy it for 10k.

I am in a group with the Daytona and Superbird owner. They are both already at top end restoration shops for a full concours restoration. He had more cars that he got moved, but the storm got those. Saltwater is as we all know, really bad

I really want a KR but I have too many bikes already and I certainly don't need another project. And even if I had the room and time I'm not sure I'd want to deal with a flood bike. In addition bikes with FL titles don't do me any good, I'd never be able to title/register them in this messed up state.

Back in 2004 I came very close to buying a KR1S in San Diego but someone beat me to it. As a result, later that year I bought my TZR250. My brand allegiance could have turned out completely different if I had gone with Team Green back in the early days of my bike buying. Now it's All Yamaha, All the Time!

Back in 2004 I came very close to buying a KR1S in San Diego but someone beat me to it. As a result, later that year I bought my TZR250.

The early KR-1 bikes were very fast, but also ate pistons more often than the competition. Ring locating pin issue I think. After it was solved, the other companies had caught up to it. The R version with the 35mm carbs I still think holds a record at bonneville .

Between a KR-1S and a 3XV1.... I think you made the better choice
