I've been soaking some of my "non-essential" parts in 303 and it seems to be softening them up a bit.

Quote from: rodneya on May 26, 2024, 01:43:49 PMThe pink color lines I use start going slightly hard after a few years, but I use fuel line quick connects from ebay to make taking the tank off easier. They are a bit bulky and do spill whatever fuel is in the line when disconnected but I have not had any problems with them in over 4 years Screenshot 2024-05-26 at 10-40-39 2 pair Fuel Line Quick Connect Release Disconnect Connector Gas 11.8mm SAE 3_8 eBay.png

I had one of these quick disconnects on my R5, I think it was Motion Pro brand. Worked great for removing the tank. Also have one for the RD that's a work in progress.

I'm willing to help get something started. We could use a little more action on the forum.

Just got back from a trip from St. Louis to Louisville. The front end and windshield of my brand new vehicle is a disaster. These little bastards are out in swarms. I was sitting in construction traffic on I-64 and there were thousands dead on the ground, they were swarming cars. There were 3 of them that really seemed to like my wife as they were staring at her through the passenger window. Also, they are extremely loud right now in my area. Then, I got home and the kids decided to go swimming, well dozens dead in the bottom of the pool.

My Sister and brother in law (Harley people) just completed a ride from St. Louis to Camp Lejune (NC) to see my neice. They said never again, it was dangerous.

Seems like businesses are closing up shop at a good clip right for a while. I was looking for a cafe style seat for another project I have going on (CB200) for my son. A place I've bought from before called legendary-motorcycles is out of business as well.

During Covid my wife had to shut down her storefront and her online sales still haven't recovered.
I don't mind too much she is less stressed which is good thing for anyone who knows her lol.

Quote from: m in sc on April 30, 2024, 03:07:31 PMheres an article on it.  (full disclosure to form your own opinion). its sort of misleading as the bike was mostly together and complete.

The title of the article says it's "rolling art" though.

Got my workbench clean, a pile of seals, tools, a beer and smokey the bandit on TV.
After disassembly, case halves and carbs go for vapor blast.

Wish me luck

General Chatter / Re: LA drivers

I've driven in LA, NYC, Chicago which are terrible. Every summer I drive from St. Louis to Hilton Head, SC and go through Atlanta GA. If you ride a bike there, you've got balls of steel! I don't even feel safe in a car.

I cut the 1.5" off mine and just reassembled. There was no way the spacers were going back in. I also emailed John to be sure.

Hemi, I'm reassembling my fork tubes right now and i'm also using the progressive springs. On both Economy and HVC site it says to cut the springs 1.5". I have cut mine.

However, there is no mention of not using the spacers. With the top fork tube fully compressed into the lower tube, I have about 4" of spring sticking out. With the top fork tube fully extended, my spring is not exposed at all. In fact, it's about 1.5" down inside the tube.
