Just saw as of July 1st 2023 the Vermont title deal is done. They got tired of stolen cars being flipped thru Vermont and the state shut it down.
 I heard South Dakota easy.

If anyone can make it before it closes it's worth a trip. Over 500 motorcycles and tons of memorabilia hanging on walls. It is truly amazing . I live about 45 mins from there and have been there twice. Going again this summer before it closes. People could see the handwriting on the wall with Covid and John dying it was just a matter of time.

I'll second the FZR plates. You can also go with 3 TZ clutch springs for more pressure (3 stock 3TZ springs). You won't notice the extra pull.

General Chatter / Re: RZ vs RD thoughts?

I love my RZ. It's not stock, more retro modded. Pipes , shock, carbs, reworked forks , different brakes, etc. But I do have a soft spot for the RD's . So simple but so fun as well. I'm to the point I don't need something that does 200mph. The RZ is so much fun lofting the front wheel in the first 2 gears! The RD would be the same for me. Like dating 2 sisters at the same time....

Whenever I get nostalgic about the 500 I remember my talks with the old racers.  They would easily agree the 350 was a much better bike.

That 500 motor is amazing and is very neat+original but the riding setup on those bikes was terrible.  One of the few bikes out that there would feel twitchy yet refuse to go around corners.

NS400R was another dissapointment.  Had 3 and would rather have my RZs.  I ultimately found hte TZR250s were the most fun i've ridden so far.

I also got to ride a NS400R for a quick spin. I thought my RZ was faster.....

The RZ500 is the epitome of Yamaha 2 stroke cool! ( next to a TZ700/750) I have had some seat time with one and while it is cool, I like my RZ350 better. And yes you will have 3 times the cost of a 350 in a 500. So in my book the 350 is more bang for the buck. But the 500 will draw more of a crowd when you pull into your local haunt.

Caswell... I've had it in my RZ tank for 4 years and never a problem. Have 2 other RZ tanks and there both gonna get the treatment.

my RZ has steel washers on the head bolts. I've got Ti head bolts on it.

Turning Wrenches / Re: v-force reedblocks for the RZ350
October 13, 2019, 06:54:48 PM
I just ordered a set for my RZ, but I also ordered a billet crossover intake from Roger @ wicked. His ad for the intake say the the combo of the intake and the Vforce blocks netted 3HP and 4ft torque in the mid range on a stock motor. With stock carbs.
I will post results when I get everything installed.

DG/RZ pipes are just a copy of the Toomey pipes. They make their most power after 9500 RPM where the stock pipes sign off. Are very light due to thin material used. Watch for seams splitting and the silencers are always loose at the rivet points. They were cheap so they sold a lot of them.

I have the Conti Radials on my RZ and love them! Stable, easy transition from side to side. Running stock sizes. Got mine from Chapperal Motorsports. Yea they were more money, but not that much more. I think they are worth it!
