No, I don't think so, although I have never seen a Daytona. But the same change was done on the XS650, which I do have. 76 and older XS had 34 mm forks and 2 piston caliper, just like on the RD350 and 400 C/D/E. 77 and newer XS has 35 mm forks and single piston caliper, just like the Daytona, although the XS caliper SLIDES, where the Daytona caliper SWINGS on a "hinge pin"
Having a 74 RD350A, and a 77 XS650D, I personally think the early style 2 piston caliper is much better. It was used on the TZ models as well, which should tell something.
Looking at the attached picture, the lower caliper lug seems to be closer to the wheel axle than on the earlier models.

That number rings a bell, pretty sure it's the same as on the 77 onwards XS650. If you are planning a brake upgrade, the most elegant way is some later model fork and calipers. FZ400/600, FZR, or even first gen R6 forks. Then no caliper adapters are required.
1st gen xs400 and well.
I ask because a good buddy has been building a seriously badass Daytona.
He spent a ton of $ on a floating disc, ss lines ... etc but still running the crap caliper.
Trying to point him toward a bolt-on caliper option if one exists.
