I had the good fortune to be invited to the 2020 iteration of Angry Bees, a 2-stroke ride put on by Garrett's dad, Charlie.

I think we started with 23-ish bikes, from memory:
3 RZ350s (I'm sure of that)
1 Bultaco Metralla
1 Kawasaki H1
1 Kawasaki H2
1 Suzuki PE175 (didn't ride)
1 Yamaha DT175/YFS200 hybrid
1 Yamaha RD250
1 Yamaha RD350
2 Yamaha R5s
1 Yamaha XS400
1 Honda CB200
1 Ron Wood framer w/SR500 engine and lights(!)
1 Husqvarna 300
1 Sweet little Yamaha DS-7!
And several gorgeous Yamaha RD400s, one with 1600 original miles AND TIRES!

85-ish miles of fine Washington back roads and bits of mountain highway with beautiful weather, a good lunch, a surprise visit to a local collector's cool bike and muscle car hoard (we kinda crashed a bridal shower), good fun and great people. Throttle cables were stretched!

Thanks, Charlie!
Looks like a fun day.
Not sure I would want to ride a bike with over 40 year old tires though.
I wouldn't either, but much respect to the owner of said RD, as he was getting right with the program. Never underestimate an old guy! His well-used Roadcrafter suit speaks volumes...

BTW the couple on the right were our lovely hosts, two-up on that sweet RD.
P.S. many thanks for the invitation and hospitality dgorms!
You're welcome Wade, pleasure meeting you. Don't forget the sweet little DS-7!.................................D
That sr500 :patriot:
Looks like a blast. I totally agree about underestimating the old dudes especially with duct taped pads.
Sorry about the oversight, Dennis. I amended it.
The SR500 sounded just as good as you probably imagine.
Looks like a fun day! :vroom:
Looks like a good time!
My TDR needs some exercise, I would have joined if I had heard about it.
Sorry Jim, assumed Garrett would have clued you in. Definitely will give a heads up next time. Be ready for the isle of Vashon in September TBA...................D
