Wheels and swingarm look like they're off a SRX250. Ask me how I know:

Possibly fuel starvation caused by fuel tank vent hole being blocked? Try taking fuel cap off and see if it makes any difference.

Big thumbs up for Mighty Max batteries. Great price and so far reliable.

I was a big fan of lithium batteries but do not have any now. Loved the light weight but had a couple start to swell and one got close to a meltdown which could have caused a fire. Now back to AGM batteries all round. IMHO unless you are looking to save a few ounces in weight they are not worth the risk.

How high will it go?  Never seen a in-line shut-off on an oil tank hose. :umm:

I wonder if the shut-off valve is there to stop oil dripping into the cylinders while sitting if the banjo one-way valves aren't working right. Thought about doing that on a GT750 that had that problem.

How does it feel compared to your old lid? Interested as I have an RF-1200 and thinking about the RF-1400 but I heard fit/sizing might be different.

Thanks guys! Also just discovered that Yamaha XS650 78-83 has a 46mm bolt spacing:

RD400 is 34mm. I know Suzuki GT750 is 45mm but I don't want the vacuum activation.

Turning Wrenches / Help Finding Fuel Petcock
May 02, 2022, 08:05:14 PM
Looking to fit a simple aftermarket (aka cheap) on/off fuel petcock to the tank of the RD/SRX Project. I'm using the SRX tank but the existing outlet/petcock is beyond rescue. The snag is that the petcock bolt spacing on the tank is 45mm. Can anyone point me to something that could work?

My Dad had one of these as his daily driver when I was about 14 back in Ireland. I remember it well. Ran on premix so we were well-known to the neighbors. He used to take me to school in it. Draughty as hell in the winter we had to wrap up in blankets to keep warm. Should have hung onto it!
