Has anyone put a modern front caliper on their RD 400. Any conversions available ??

What about FZ(R)600 rwu forks? Then no caliper adapter is required.

no but then you have to make axle spacers and stem adapters. unless you're looking for a fork swap the caliper adapter is the way to go.
