Title: T-500 Oil Lines
Post by: map747 on August 08, 2023, 10:52:03 PM
I am a new member, so thanks for the add. I have a 75 Suzuki T500 that the oil lines are leaking. Has anyone found a way to build a new set of lines?

The left cylinder lines have bubbles in them, so they are leaking at the fittings. What kind of line can I use that would stand up to oil and heat?

might just be the sealing washers of the check valves TBH. if you don't see an actual leak, that's probably what it is.

as far as the washers go, i replaced all mine on the 72 with stat-o-seals. I also sprayed through all the fitting s(off the bike) with carb cleaner to clean out the check valves and they have been working great for 5 years now.

as far as wat i would replace them with, i would use 1/8" urethane line from parts unlimited, so general m6 banjo fittings, and yamaha marine inline checks where necessary.

r5 banjo fittings will work well and are m6 hole:

if you go that way, they do sell oil line as well.

We have all that stuff as well, admittedly more expensive but top quality oem yamaha fittings and the oil line is the thicker walled Parts Unlimited stuff that works well for oil, vent, drain lines and doesn't collapse under vacuum. Map747 and I talked earlier this week about his titan and I referred him here to the forum for advice. Yamaha just recently discontinued the original black oil line, but the parts unlimited line comes in black or clear.

Don't remember if those sealing washers are copper, do you know m in sc? Where did you get stat-o-seals? I will look them up.
