I actually finished this thing while the old site was down so the thread never got completed. I kind of sucked at progressing and taking pictures anyway. So the first few pics are when I took it home. Crusty, rusty, no brakes and it didn't run:
Here is one more:
Here it is completed enough to ride:
The chain guard needs to be modified with the YSS shocks or I can get rid of the progressive springs and find some slimmer straight rates.
Thanks to everyone on the site who helped out with this project. Chuck was able to salvage the original 2V0 cylinders which were off of the bike when I bought it. They were resleeved by a shade tree mechanic and also had a large gouge down the wall. Transfers are now smaller but it still runs fine thanks to Team Scream. Economan hooked me up with a standard set that will go to Chuck also to be cleaned up :metal:
The forks need new sliders due to some bad pitting up top. It's not on the seals but doesn't look right with the rest of the bike so clean. I'll drop in new springs and emulators after engine break in.
Everything was rebuilt, brakes, rotor resurfaced, engine, wheels, man it took four years. Hunting down missing parts taught me patience! Found a few NOS parts like the seat cover, might have been one of the last ones around. John at economy was nice enough to get the Daytona intake boots repop'd so we have nice pliable rubber to help in removing the carbs. Anyway enough blabbering, thanks 2SW for all of the help on this.
That looks great! :righteous: Nice work
Good job, nice to see another Daytona on the road. :vroom:
Nice bike Clem!
Beautiful work!
Nice job Clem!

Thanks for stocking and providing parts for these RD's! You are a big part of getting this back together
Hey Clem, Fantastic job. Did I mention when you got those cylinders from me that I would also have to break them in for you. I'll be right over.
Richard,

Richard,
I'd probably be better off just bringing it to you. I'm sure you're surrounded by much better roads. Thanks again for the help on this one!
Great looking bike. Best of the RDs from an aesthetic point of view. Nice job.
Very nice work! I am fond of the stock look, especially the stock pipes; it just makes the bike "look right". You should be proud.
Lyn Garland
Thank you Lyn and Teazer. I was supposed to take it to NOLA today for the races but the weather was too unpredictable. 30 miles on it so far and I need to get rid of the surging on closed throttle. It's totally different than the 350 that I have that's for sure.
So Cool to meet you at the Nola AHRMA vintage races!
Your a friend for life now... :vroom:
Chuck.
P.S. Danny Miller won both of his F-500 races with his Team Scream built and tuned / Barlow designed RD400!
