interesting ...(not mine)

from CL ad...
"CA plated RS50 with 00/01? cr250 motor. Tag good until 10/18/21. Thought I would learn to ride on it etc. Prefer dirt. Comes with rebuilt 70cc Aprilia motor w/electric start. And a receipt for tuning. Everything to return bike to original is here. Wiring harness intact. Very good condition. Surprise some people in twists. Must go because I'm moving. $3200.00 partial trade considered. Two Stroke! Street Legal! Plated! Starts right up 1st/2nd kick. Very quick. Huge smile factor."

General Chatter / Re: 79 Daytona Fender Paint
August 04, 2020, 05:21:20 PM
I just went through this myself after finding a clean daytona rear fender. I debated powder coating vs rattle can and decided on trying spray paint first.

First i used VHT brake caliper paint (Black Satin - PN SP739). I thought the color/sheen was about right. I let it sit for a couple months before I touched it. Discovered that it scuffs far too easily just from handling. This was not going to work for me.

Next I used  VHT Epoxy paint (Black Satin PN SP652) . I had used this before on other things and was really happy with the durable finish I got. The epoxy sheen is slightly more glossy than the caliper satin but still looks good on my bike. . Its much more durable so Im happy with it. You can always do some comparison test samples before spraying the fender.

General Chatter / Nothing like a good cup of joe
April 18, 2020, 01:51:16 AM

- from the Cycle Gear website......

Liberty Coffee Blends Kenny Roberts Roast

Perhaps it was the Power Valve technology. Maybe it was just a high-octane cup of morning joe. In the 1970s, Kenny Roberts would climb out of bed, grab a mug of dark roast and then go on to dominate AMA Grand National dirt tracks and slay the international FIM Grand Prix road racing circuits. Roberts' point-and-shoot style - forged on the dirt ovals of America - was nothing the world had ever seen before. "King" Kenny earned world championship titles in 1978, 1979 and 1980.

Later transitioning into team management, team ownership and then advocacy for racers' rights and track safety, Roberts continues to be an American hero. Partnering with the Welcome Home Heroes Foundation, Kenny Roberts donates his time to charity rides and motorcycle events that raise money for US veterans and their families. Liberty Coffee Blends supports Welcome Home Heroes by donating a portion of sales from the Kenny Roberts Roast to the foundation.

Features:
    Rich, smokey French roast
    Hints of RG500-toasted Goodyears
    Notes of wafty pre-mix
    Drip grind
    12 ounces by weight

The milleniums on my Daytona frame just clear the center stand tabs by about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. The pipe sits just outboard  the tab centerline.

Nice job. I just noticed this thread. Great to see the millenniums live on. I have a set and it sounds like you've addressed the weaknesses (poor seal at the flange, rivited canister. Any plans for a stainless option?

Thanks for the feedback!

Looking for RD400 daytona side cover decals. I don't really want to buy the entire decal set, just the side covers. I found two vendors selling just the side covers... Yamatopdog on Ebay, and Diablo Cycles (Reproduction Decals) . Anyone use these either of these vendor's  decals?   Any other suppliers you can recommend?

thanks

that Suter MMX five hundo looked pretty wicked. One of 4 in the US per the owner, with two of those already parts bikes.  Oh what happened to those two unfortunate ones he's asked? The guy holds out his right arm like he's gripping the throttle and winces as he twists it just a bit too much....

A big thanks to the 2T Extravaganza volunteers for putting on another great event. The freak weather dampened things a bit on Sunday but overall another fun time!

what did you miss?  You don't see  these every day
