Title: My R5/RD 350 project
Post by: Fastash on March 25, 2019, 09:24:53 AM
Bought the RD as a basket case then scored a really clean R5 roller. The engine has been rebuilt from crankshaft up. Got some new specll pipes from Gary. Saving for a good ignition. I'm not too thrilled about having to hack on the frame to mount the pipes though.

"Hack the frame"? - all you need to do is bend the center stand mounts over if you don't want to cut them off.

the pic upside thing is from using your phone sideways. flip it 180 (still sideways) and they will post upright. Nothing on the forum software can correct that. just fyi.  :twocents:

Odd, I see the attach icon on the posts but no actual images?

Other threads work fine... did Fastash remove them and the forum isn't smart enough to remove the attachment icon or is something odd happening?

I've noticed this happening too on some threads over the last 3-4 days. (I'm using Chrome v73. And same behavior with MSIE v11)

Well as of right now my budget is tight and the bike only has 5k original miles ,hopefully it will do for a ride or two . Saving for a complete ignition system in the near future .

ok. i have had too many die on me in the past to risk it. if you are going to get a cdi, i get it. if a dyna, get em now. mileage has nothing to do with it. age does. they do break down over time. my .02

Fastash are you by any chance the guy who bought my R5 roller? I'm in Niles, Michigan (far southwest corner of Michigan). Congrats on your progress, and if that is my former roller I regret selling it but glad it has a good home.
