Anyone Near Compton California

There is an RZ Gauge cluster there that a FB person has for sale.

He will ship it to me. But wont let me pay via Paypal, even if I pay the fee.

So wondering if it is a scam.

But he did say someone can come by & pick it up.

If anyone is close, I can try & get full address

Compton is a place you drive through in daylight with the windows rolled up and the doors locked. Like East Oakland and parts of Long Beach. There's always someone who likes a donut shop or something in places like that. Barbecue... Going into the neighborhoods may not be the smartest thing you can do.

One time I bought a rather expensive racing engine out of a garage from a stranger in an absolute dump of a place in the worst neighborhood in Pittsburgh. The guy was a genius and the engine was top notch. A few years later we crossed paths with the guy, we were killing it at the race track, he sponsored us with free labor and we went on two win three championships and set numerous track records all over the eastern US. This was in race cars, but still, sometimes you find some gems out there. The guy has a legit shop now in a nice area. Sometimes that's just how it goes.

I tried another time with some FB messages with him
He still would not take the PayPal.

So probably not going to happen, unless some other way is found.

I wonder if an Uber driver can pick them up for me & take to UPS store?

That's one way to find out how bad a neighborhood is. By the number of cancelled Uber requests.

So I contacted the guy again.
After a member here said he was close & could assist.

I asked him for the pickup address.

Somehow now he is in:

El Dorado Hills, CA. 95762

Not sure what to make of this.
still wants funds up front to ship.
Will not even drop off at a UPS store for me to pay postage directly.
