October 12, 2019, 04:17:30 PM
are they worth it?
do the ones for the Banshee just bolt on with no intake modification?
thanks for any input

General Chatter / Re: Motorcycle Shipping

i have shipped 3 bikes
1 with a broker, $500, bike showed up in a rented penske box van- it was ok
the other 2 times i went with

https://haulbikes.com/

it was more $$$, like $700
but the bikes showed up in a very respectable semi that was designed for moving bikes and were not "brokered out" to a lowest bidder, the bike stays with haul bikes the entire time it is being shipped
both companies took around 3 weeks to deliver

poor DG pipes, get such a bad name
had a pair on my '84 rz and they tuned perfectly with stock carbs and airbox
maybe less quality materials?
they function great

I have this one. Not an RR, but 100% stock and mint condition '89 49-state model

i have always had love for the fizzer!
had an '89 and a '90 at different times
ended up buying this old racer with a blown 600 in it
guy had all the parts for the build stashed, but life had other plans for him
so i put it back together and ended up putting this Chini faring kit from the bay on it
this bike rides great

Well the SRX is up and running perfectly! I got the starting drill down and it's usually a one or two kick affair. The bike is very light and agile, definite back road burner. Now back to the RZ project..................................................D
yup, learning the method definitely helps
i love the handling but, the power is lacking, sure would have been a winner with a 2stroke twin in it

Wow, that is a super nice bike. I can see that one coming home!
hey thank you much Paul, it had been well kept in the previous owners board room but kept in riding condition which is what i saw attractive about it
i made an inquiry about that one you have pictured in your previous post, believe it is in North Dakota, still at the dealership it was delivered to in 1986- i think it has like 30 "roll around" miles on it
but would it be a sin to start it and ride it? (that answer is an opinion)
would it be expensive to make it roadworthy again- i think too much and worried about possibly dry rotted internal rubber parts, tires, brake lines, ya know; all the stuff that makes a $5oo dollar barn find actually cost $1500
i believe that guy was asking $5K for the one you pictured

its another fantastic candidate for a proper motor swap, i always think " a RZ motor would really do the trick on that bike"
i feel the same about the FZR400

so did you get it?
i went for one last year, its a real looker
sweet little town bike, not fast but lots of fun, sounds like a dirt bike
really small and nimble, i fell in love with its looks
the wife won't ride on the back of my other bikes, but she likes the srx
