And you figured the next logical step was a public shaming? Clearly you're the only one acting like an adult in this. :o

It's like my Grandpappy used to say "If you wanna catch flies... Shit works just as good as Honey. It just depends on what you wanna smell like afterwards".

I have no dog in this fight either way, so I'll just say 'Y'all have fun with that'

I think it should be taken to PM/email/phone call/etc. No point in dragging either party through the mud until a resolution (amicable or otherwise) to the issue is reached ;)

JB Weld makes a High Heat Epoxy that works really well. I've used it to reattach Corvette emblems to SBC valve covers with great results.

Think of it like a shock absorber. With light/easy input, it moves freely. With fast/heavy input, it gets harder to move.

Some riders don't have long arms and like the clip ons in closer and will hit a stock tank.
Chuck
Ok, fair enough :)

This might be a silly question, but can't you just rotate the clip-ons forward enough to not contact the tank at full lock?
I have clip-ons as well, and they don't hit the tank.

We made it out. The only 2t in the event. We had a bunch of troubles, mostly brake related. The video is of my best lap, which was not a good lap by an standard, but the car does run.

My father, me, and my son. 75 plus years of racing experience, we will see if my son wants to join in some day.

That's just Awesome right there.
Years ago we had a ton of fun running SCCA Solo2 events. So much so that we built a C-Prepared Z28 and started running Solo1.
Been getting the itch to build another car and get back into it. Thanks for the nudge ;)

With Marks recommendation (in another thread), I purchased these LED headlights...

After:

I know, it's not a really good comparison.
But we're currently under TS Barry, so no riding today :-\

I'd never split open an RD either, and I guess technically I still haven't :P
But I took on reassembling an RD400 engine that was already split, with every part/nut/bolt dumped in a bucket. It seemed daunting. But as stated, these engines are really simple.
Take lots of pictures. Label parts in bags. And you can use a parts fische (BikeBandit.com has them online) to show you how 90% of it goes together.

And, there's a great group of people on here, and they're always will to help ;)

Truth.
Mine also has the rod reversed in the body, in order to put the "pretty" side up with the left side mounted position.

I still have an old GSX-R steering damper laying around from a previous project. Wondering if I can fit this to the RD.
I did...

This was taken quite a few years ago. I can get you better pics if you like.

1: not having to borrow the money from significant other

I should've mentioned, the wife and I have a joint checking account. Hence the "heads up" when one of us makes a big purchase.

General Chatter / Re: Tire pressure question
July 07, 2019, 09:16:52 PM
Assuming the vehicle (car or bike) is running the OEM size tire, I always start with what the manufacturer recommends for tire pressure, and adjust accordingly from there.
Generally the vehicle manufacturer will be a better judge of what pressure the vehicle should run. Tire manufacturers only state what the max psi their tire can safely operate with. Those two numbers are usually very different.

Not really a "permission" thing, but the wife and I have an agreement that any purchase (for either of us) over a certain amount of money (couple of hundred bucks) needs to be discussed. Mainly so that no big purchase hits the checking account without the others knowledge. To avoid overdrafts, etc.
Otherwise, it's all good. I buy what I want, she buys what she wants.
