You're right, didn't realize it was a triple, just assumed it was a 90-degree twin. 2 cylinders in front and 1 vertical.

The front brake is interesting. The caliper goes through the middle of the disc, and the disc mounts via ears on the OD to the wheel. I'm not sure what they were trying to achieve, but it's pretty cool looking. It appears the design was pretty common, I just never took note of it.

Those look like a lot of work and way too many parts.
Buell did a good job mounting disks to the OD of the wheel
XB Buells were a bit of a PITA to change tires on.
