Can we use a Rd400 c/d tank on RD350 chassis ? Rear clamping is totally different, but can the front mate well with a 350 air-cooled chassis ?

Been a lot of years since I last saw this talked about but there are people on the board who have done this I believe.  The short answer is yes the 400 tank can be mounted on the 350 frame once you make the rear mounts.  However, there could be other issues on a stock 350 to watch out for such as seat interference and clearance under the tank.

Yes, the front mount is the same. The rear mount is a pretty simple procedure to fab up, weld some tabs to the frame with some nuts welded to the bottom to accept the rear flanges on the 400 tank and use the factory 400 rubber pieces to make a nice clean install. Here is a couple of pics of how I did mine(I also integrated the front mount for my rear section in the mount).

thanks for the inputs. will it interfere with the ignition coils or the stock seat ?

I don't recall any issues with the coils but never tried to fit the stock seat so can't help with that.

depends on the length of the tank, thanks

will clear everything else including seat.

you can use 2 p clamps and a cross bar for a rear mount if you dont want to weld.  just tap the 2 spots where the bolts go from the bottom. been there before.  :twocents:
